KERMIT — Mark your calendar. Kermit’s Christmas in the Park is Dec. 2.
“Everyone, please get excited,” Kermit Councilwoman Anna Mae Sartin Wellman said. “We want this to be a wonderful and joyous event.”
Sartin said the Town of Kermit Parks and Recreation Committee plans to expand the event this year.
Groups, schools and individuals who want a spot to decorate can message the committee on Facebook or call city hall at 304-393-2655. Displays should be set up by Nov. 28.
The annual parade will be at 6 p.m., with the line-up at 5:30 p.m. at the car wash.
The community tree lighting provided by Affirming, Believing, Learning and Empowering (ABLE) Families will follow the parade.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand underneath the shed 6:30-7:30 p.m. to receive children’s wishes for Christmas. There will be plenty of caroling and free hot chocolate and cookies.
