INEZ — Support the work of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Martin County by purchasing tickets to “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” dinner performance Nov. 5.
Mountain Movers Theatre Company’s “Sleepy Hollow” performance is on tap at 6:30 p.m. at the Garden Theater in Louisa.
“This is a little fundraiser for us,” Kiwanis president Melissa Phelps announced during the club’s luncheon Thursday at the Shufflin’ Café in Inez. “We want to encourage everyone to come out to that.”
“The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” is Washington Irving’s 1820 tale that follows the story of schoolmaster Ichabod Crane, who encounters Sleepy Hollow’s infamous headless horseman.
The ticket price is $30 or two tickets for $55 and includes dinner and the show.
To purchase tickets, message Kiwanis on Facebook at facebook.com/MartinCoKiwanis/ or contact Phelps, Lisa Lynette Spence or any Kiwanis Club member.
The Garden Theater is located at 125 S. Main Cross Street.
Phelps also announced that Kiwanis will give out candy at the Head Start trick-or-treat from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Thursday at the Collier Center. On Dec. 1, members plan to assist Christmas in the Mountains by manning the skating rink.
