Korbyn Joseph Thurner, 13, of Leitchfield, passed away Monday, March 9, 2026, at Norton’s Children’s Hospital after a hard fight against PTLD.
Born April 27, 2012, in Leitchfield, he was the son of Matthew Thurner (Molly) and Phyllis Sandlin Cassady (Alex).
He was a strong, happy soul who loved beach trips, school, hunting and fishing, video games, riding in his side-by-side and the great outdoors. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his best buddy, Kaden Milliner.
Other than his parents he is survived by his siblings, Kadence and Mackenzie Sandlin, Makenzie Mercer, Ella Webb, Raylee Thurner, and a little brother Levi Thurner who is expected to be here in a few weeks; paternal grandparents, Lisa and Dwayne Armstrong of Leitchfield and Roy and Tonia Thurner of Cincinnati, Ohio; maternal grandparents, Holly and Tom Hazelrigg of Leitchfield and Leland and Tammy Sandlin, also of Leitchfield; maternal step-grandparents, Mike and Michelle Cassady of Bowling Green; a special aunt and uncle, Amanda Milliner (Gavin) along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who also survive.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Leland Sandlin will be officiating. Burial will be in the Scott Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Sunday.
