CITIZEN STAFF REPORT
INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

David Scott Copley, 24, of Kenova, West Virginia, was arrested Feb. 16 at Dempsey Housing in Warfield on a charge of assault, fourth degree (domestic violence), minor injury.
Deputy Trenton Yaunk said deputies were patrolling at Dempsey when they heard screaming and then saw Copley and a female. According to the police report, the female stated that Copley pushed her and kicked her in the face. The report also notes the female hit Copley but he did not want to press charges.

Calvin Muncy, 33, of Warfield, was arrested Feb. 16 in the sheriff’s booking room in Inez on a warrant charging him with assault, fourth degree (child abuse). Yaunk made the arrest after Muncy turned himself in.

Valerie Faith Dillon, 53, was arrested Feb. 15 on a charge of contempt of court/libel/slander resistance to order.

Christopher Jake Bowen, 39, of Warfield, was served Feb. 13 on Collins Creek Road in Warfield with a bench warrant for court. Deputy Yaunk served the warrant.

Robert Meade Jr., 74, of Inez, was arrested Feb. 13 on a charge of terroristic threatening, third degree. Deputy Jameson Wall made the arrest.

Rita Lynn Maynard, 54, of Lovely, was arrested Feb. 12 on North Wolf Creek in Lovely on a bench warrant for court. Deputy Yaunk served the warrant.

Larry Joe Horn Jr., 58, and Brandi Moore, 35, both of Inez, were arrested Feb. 12 on Milo Road in Tomahawk on charges of first-degree and first offense trafficking in controlled substance (less than 2 grams of methamphetamine), first offense trafficking in controlled substance, drug paraphernalia-buy/possession, and open alcoholic beverage container prohibited in a motor vehicle. Horn was also charged with obstructed vision and/or windshield.
While patrolling North Milo, officers noticed a Toyota Tacoma had a sign covering and obstructing the rear window. According to Deputy Wall, the vehicle crossed the double yellow line while going around a curve, and he activated his lights and conducted a traffic stop.
“The driver and passenger were acting very nervously and were moving around in the vehicle,” Wall noted.
When the two subjects exited the vehicle, officers observed a Natural Light can in the cup holder. Horn gave police permission to search the vehicle, where they found three individual baggies containing a crystal-like substance weighing approximately 7 grams. They also found 10 orange pills loose inside a purse on the passenger side; a bottle of Gabapentin that was filled Feb. 9, which should have contained 90 pills, but contained only 49 pills; a scale; a small, clear individual baggie; and $73 in cash. In the back seat, inside a cloth bag, officers found 0.5 grams of a crystal-like substance. The police report notes that officers found $1,570 in Horn’s pockets.
While looking under the hood, officers saw a clear bag tucked between the radiator and the front bumper.
“We pulled the bag out of the grill and found a large bag and another small baggie containing a crystal-like substance, all being suspected methamphetamine,” the report notes.
The large bag weighed 75.6 grams and the small baggie weighed 3.2 grams.
Sheriff Kirk, Deputy Wall and Deputy Yaunk investigated at the scene.

Deputy Wall said Farnham passed him in a vehicle that was “very loud” and had no illuminated plate light. According to the police report, Farnham had no identification on him and the vehicle plate was registered to a Toyota rather than the GM Sierra he was driving.

Lara Victoria Davis-Giacomoni, 42, was arrested Feb. 10 on Riverfront Road in Lovely on two bench warrants for court. Her charges include two counts of third-degree burglary and one count of third-degree criminal trespassing. Deputy Yaunk served the warrants.
