Pike County grand jury indicts 28

PIKEVILLE — The Pike County grand jury returned 28 indictments Feb. 10, including 26 felonies, with most cases stemming from drug-related arrests.

Charges range from possession and trafficking to fleeing police, assault and persistent felony offender counts.

Those indicted are listed below.

Erica R. Bartley, 45, of Elkhorn City: First-degree bail jumping.

Tyler Begley, 31, of Fisty: Resisting arrest, and second-degree fleeing and evading.

Rose Booten, 43, of Pikeville: First-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Joseph Bryant, 50, of Pikeville: Failure to wear a seat belt, careless driving, DUI first, possession of marijuana and first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Randall L. Bryant, 60, of Shelbiana: First-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Matthew Cook, 44, of Phelps: Third-degree burglary, and two counts of theft by unlawful taking (firearm).

Herbert Courtney, 52, of Elkhorn City: First-degree criminal mischief and first-degree persistent felony offender.

Devin Gearles, 31, of Phelps: Two counts of second-degreewanton endangerment.

Travis Holloway, 39, of Shelbiana: Three counts of first-degree bail jumping.

Whitney Hurley, 36, of Freeburn: Three counts of first-degree bail jumping.

Kevin Johnson, 60, of Cleveland, Ohio: First-degree fleeing/evading, reckless driving, DUI first, possession of marijuana, tampering with evidence, driving suspended, no seat belt, no license plate, improper registration, and failure to produce an insurance card.

Jonathan King, 53, of Pikeville: Tampering with evidence, second-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Brittany McClanahan, 32, of Richmond: two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Nathan Newsome, 42, of Pikeville: First-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and first-degree persistent felony offender.

Adam Pierce, 40, of Freeburn: Second-degree fleeing/evading, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, no license plate, driving suspended first, all-terrain vehicle violation, failure to produce insurance card and no tail lamps.

Jared Ratliff, 33, of Jenkins: First-degree fleeing/evading, speeding, driving suspended first, second-degree persistent felony offender.

Mark Smith, 45, of Staffordsville: First-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI third, possession of marijuana, license plate not legible, no seat belt, failure to produce insurance card, driving suspended, first, speeding and second-degree persistent felony offender.

Robert Smith, 50, of Fedscreek: Second-degree fleeing/evading and all-terrain vehicle violation.

Oliver Spears, 18, of Pikeville: First-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Kayla Staton, 39, of Pikeville: Two counts of fourth-degree assault and two counts of resisting arrest.

Johnny Stewart, 58, of Pikeville: First-degree promoting contraband, second-degree possession of a controlled substance, and prescription not in proper container.

Steve Tackett, 53, of Jenkins: Resisting arrest and possession of a handgun by a felon.

Donna Walker, 58, of Sidney: First-degree possession of a controlled substance, DUI fourth, possession of drug paraphernalia, no seat belt, driving suspended second and first-degree persistent felony offender.

Darla Yates, 37, of Pikeville: two counts of third-degree assault, resisting arrest, menacing and second-degree disorderly conduct.
