CITIZEN STAFF REPORT

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Joseph K. Scott

Law enforcement arrested Joseph K. Scott, 47, of Hardy, Feb. 9 on KY-40 in Warfield on two warrants charging him with failure to appear for traffic and misdemeanor charges. Deputy Jameson Wall served the warrants at 11:49 p.m.

Ethan Ray Mills

Officers took Ethan Ray Mills, 19, into custody Feb. 9 near Tunnel Road in Lovely on a charge of public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol).

Deputy Trenton Yaunk responded to Tunnel Road regarding a complaint about a white Colorado that had been asked not to return. The police report notes that officers observed Mills stumbling and smelled marijuana coming from him. Mills allegedly admitted that he smoked marijuana 45 minutes earlier.

Donald Ray Cornette

Donald Ray Cornette, 55, of Tomahawk, went to jail Feb. 9 on a charge of alcohol intoxication in a public place, first and second. Deputy Jameson Wall made the arrest.

Steven Davis

Steven Davis, 42, of Inez, went to jail Feb. 8 following his arrest on Gordon Maynard Road in Inez on a bench warrant and two indictment warrants from Magoffin County. Davis faces charges of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, aggravated trafficking in controlled substance greater than 28 grams fentanyl, possession of a controlled substance first degree and first offence (drug unspecified) and drug paraphernalia – buy/ possession. The arrest report states Davis turned himself in.

Trista Lachelle McCoy

Authorities arrested Trista Lachelle McCoy, 36, of Paintsville, Feb. 8 on North Wolf Creek Road in Pilgrim on a warrant from Lawrence District Court. Constable Bradford Preece served the warrant at 2:09 p.m.

Valerie Faith Dillon

Valerie Faith Dillon, 53, went to jail Feb. 8 on a charge of contempt of court/libel/slander/ resistance to order.

Kevin Michael Litton

Kevin Michael Litton, 36, landed in police custody Feb. 6 on Spence Branch in Tomahawk. Deputy Yaunk arrested Litton on an indictment warrant charging him with criminal abuse in the first degree.

Mary Lou Setser

Law enforcement arrested Mary Lou Setser, 55, of Inez, Feb. 6 on Fitch Branch in Inez on charges of terroristic threatening, third degree and obstructing governmental operations.

Deputy Yank and Sheriff Kirk responded to a residence on Fitch Branch, where Setser allegedly threatened to kill two females inside the home. The police report states that upon arriving in the booking room, Setser refused to provide identifying information, including her birthdate and Social Security number.

Roy K. Goble

Police took Roy K. Goble, 50, of Lovely, into custody Feb. 6 on KY 292 in Lovely on an indictment warrant charging him with bail jumping in the first degree. Deputy Wall served the warrant.

Goble also went to jail Jan. 23 following his arrest on Route 292 in Lovely on a warrant charging him with failure to appear and possession of a controlled substance, first degree (methamphetamine).

Patrick Zane Speer

Authorities placed Patrick Zane Speer, 34, of Warfield, under arrest Feb. 5 on Collins Creek Road in Warfield on an indictment warrant. Speer faces charges of criminal abuse in the first degree, child 12 or under, and manslaughter second degree. Deputy Wall served the warrant around 5:26 p.m.

Jason Tommy Scott, 42, of Warfield, went to jail Feb. 5 following his arrest at Dempsey Housing in Warfield. His charges include leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid or assistance; failure to report traffic accident; failure to notify owner of unattended vehicle of damage; driving DUI-suspended license, second offense; public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol); and unauthorized use of motor vehicle, first offense.

Deputy Yaunk responded to a traffic accident at approximately 8:42 a.m. on KY-40 above the Beauty Post Office, where he found an abandoned vehicle.

The police report states that a caller advised law enforcement they had dropped Scott, the alleged driver, off at Dempsey Housing.

Deputy Yaunk said he reviewed video from a local business that showed Scott driving a vehicle owned by Joe Mullins. The deputy noted the owner also confirmed Scott’s identity.

Law enforcement located Scott at Dempsey Housing around 10:12 a.m., where Scott allegedly admitted to driving and using methamphetamine at approximately 11 p.m. the previous night.

Trevor Kelly Blackburn

Sheriff Kirk arrested Trevor Kelly Blackburn, 30, of Debord, Feb. 5 in Lovely on charges of public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol), drug paraphernalia – buy/ possession, and possession of controlled substance in the first degree (cocaine).

Sheriff Kirk said he responded to a call about an impaired driver who passed out in his truck at the gas pump at the Lovely Zip Zone. Witnesses told law enforcement Blackburn had been there for approximately two hours.

According to the police report, upon waking, Blackburn allegedly admitted he had used cocaine.

The sheriff seized a container with white residue that Scott reportedly said was cocaine, along with a glass dope pipe from Scott’s pocket and another from the vehicle’s console, the report states.

Sheriff Kirk also reported finding a tin containing a gray-colored, rock-like substance.

Eric Phillip Crum

Authorities arrested Eric Phillip Crum, 42, address unknown, Feb. 4 on Setser Branch Road in Debord on a warrant charging him with failure to appear on a felony charge. Deputy Wall served the warrant around 3:53 p.m.

Charlene Renay Carter

Law enforcement took Charlene Renay Carter, 35, of Debord, into custody Feb. 2 on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

Teenie Leshae Jarvis, 38, of Warfield, went to jail Jan. 29 after her arrest at Dempsey Housing on two warrants for failure to appear for misdemeanor charges. Deputy Wall served the warrants at 6:05 p.m.

Ronnie Ray Mollett

Police arrested Ronnie Ray Mollett, 51, of Boons Camp, Jan. 28 on Rockhouse Road in Tomahawk. Mollett faces charges of public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol) and drug paraphernalia – buy/ possession.

According to the police report, Deputy Trenton Yaunk and Sheriff Kirk responded to Rockhouse Road after receiving a report of an intoxicated male sitting in the roadway.

The report states officers found a used needle and syringe stained with what appeared to be blood in Mollett’s possession.

Ricky Lee Gauze

Police arrested Ricky Lee Gauze, 47, of Williamson, West Virginia, Jan. 23 in Inez on an indictment warrant and a bench warrant. Deputy Ronald L. Patrick II served the warrants.

Shawn Moore

Law enforcement arrested Shawn Moore, 46, of Inez, Jan. 20 on Estep Lane in Inez on a warrant charging him with theft by unlawful taking or disposition (shoplifting). Deputy Wall served the warrant at 8:11 p.m.
