Joann Ratliff
1956—2026

Joann Ratliff, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother (GG), passed away peacefully at her residence in Ashville, Ohio, on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, at 8:51 a.m. at the age of 69.

Born Oct. 6, 1956, in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Harlin and Opal Ratliff.

She was raised in Ratliff Town in Inez, Kentucky, where she developed the strong family values that carried her throughout her life.

Joann was a devoted mother to Karen Paugh of Ashville, Ohio, Amy Jones of Columbus, Ohio, and Catrina (Tad) Miller of Commercial Point, Ohio, and a proud grandmother to Joshua Paugh, Kayla (Jason) Carpenter, Alyce Jones, Maya Jones, Seth (Sierra) Miller, Taren (Donovan) Shields, Bryanna Paugh, Kallai Miller, Jasmyn Jones, Sydne Jones and Leah Miller. She was a cherished great-grandmother to eight beautiful babies: Brycen, Lainey, James, Laikyn, Tobias, Koa, Rumi and Ivory. She is also survived by her brother, Stanley (Betty) Ratliff, and her sister, Tammy Spzak.

In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by her brothers, Randy and Danny Ratliff.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be deeply missed by her many family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at the Vineyard United Baptist Church with Ray Messer Jr. and Jeb Cain officiating. Graveside services will follow in Ratliff Town, with a meal to follow at Vineyard United Baptist Church. Friends may visit at the church Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky.
