The Martin County High School girls wrestlers are the Kirk & Crum Law Firm Players of the Week.
The squad made history by competing in its first showcase over the weekend—the Lady Cardinals Showcase at Scott County High School.
Competing in one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, the Lady Cardinals announced their arrival by placing sixth out of 12 teams and producing five podium finishers.
Kenleigh Estep delivered a milestone moment for the program, winning the first tournament championship in school history with back-to-back pins at 100 pounds.
Kennedy Maynard added a third-place finish at 126, sealing her medal with a pin in the third-place match.
Harleigh Maynard (107), Haleigh Smith (120) and Desiray Fletcher (100) each placed fourth to round out a breakthrough day for Martin County’s inaugural roster.
