Martin County Cardinals middle school and youth wrestlers are the Kirk & Crum Law Firm Players of the Week.

The club qualified 17 wrestlers combined for the state KFWC. Coach Andrew Chaffin’s matmen saw multiple champions and podium finishes across both divisions in the KFWC Region 6 tournament Friday and Saturday at Martin County High School.

Middle school wrestlers captured the Region 6 team runner-up title, along with four individual championships, two runners-up, four fourth-place finishes and a sixth-place finish.

Youth wrestlers also produced four regional champs, one runner-up, two fourth-place finishers and a sixth-place finisher.

With state qualifiers spanning age groups and weight classes, the program’s motto “Grit. Heart. Pride.” proved fitting on the mat.
