Dorothy Mae (Marcum) Dillon
1940—2026

Dorothy Mae (Marcum) Dillon, 85, of Milton, West Virginia, formerly of Kermit, passed away Jan. 19, 2026, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

Born May 16, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Gladys Perry Marcum of Jenny’s Creek.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Elbert Dillon; one grandson, William Riley Dillon; two sisters, Eula Boyd and Rebecca Ellis; and three brothers, Herschel Marcum, Clayton Marcum and Ernest Delbert Marcum.

She is survived by her seven children: Julie (Anthony) Chapman of Milton, Barb (Ellis) Maynard and Danny (Barbara) Dillon, both of Louisa, Kentucky, Ricky (Melissa) Dillon of Pilgrim, Kentucky, Lois (Ricky) Delong of Inez, Kentucky, Lynn (John) Sartin of Kermit and Gladys Dillon of St. Albans. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Amber Hallam, Joshua Pankratz, Andy Hallam, Brok Adkins, Brittany Maynard, Zackary Sampsel, Katlan (Tyler) Pack, Cindy (Jason) Gray, David (Candace) Dillon, Maggie Dillon, Dorothy Renee Dillon, Rickey M. Dillon, Willie, Leo, Leanna and Melissa R. Dillon, Raquel (Jesse) Rogers, Kristin (Devin) Harmon, Connor Delong, John Russell Sartin, Rhonda Sartin, Kevin Perkins and Shannon Nicole, Donavan Chapman, Makynlee Chapman; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy is also survived by one sister, Doris Jean Howard, and four brothers, Ray (Connie) Marcum, Claude (Irene) Marcum, Glen (Louri) Marcum, and Van (Zelma) Marcum. Additional survivors include Lisa Lucas, a special family friend, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was greatly loved by all and will be forever missed.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, at Crum Funeral Home in Inez, Kentucky, with Ellis Maynard officiating. Burial followed at the Dillon Cemetery on Jenny’s Creek. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home.
