
Lillie Mae White
1938—2026
Lillie Mae White, 87, of Barboursville, West Virginia (formerly Kermit, West Virginia), passed away Jan. 15, 2026, at St Mary’s Hospital.
Born May 5, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Preston and Audrey Sturgill Bailey.
Lillie was a member of Neely Branch Baptist Church but attended Sunrise Baptist Church while living in Barboursville.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Ernest Thomas White, son Charlie White, son-in-law Carlos Brewer, sisters Lula Perry, Ina Bailey, Alice Brown and brother Preston Bailey Jr.
She is survived by her daughters Delores Brewer and Ernestine Napier, son-in-law Kenneth Napier, granddaughter Kentra Jenkins, grandsons Zachary Jenkins and Justin (Shalina) White, great-grandchildren Aubrey, Maddilyn, Remington, Colton and Waylon and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She loved watching her great-grandchildren grow up and seeing them most every day. Lillie loved to sew, quilt, read and attend church, where she would stand and sing songs of praise to her Lord. She left a testimony of her faith to all who knew her, always telling friends and family to follow Jesus and serve him.
The funeral was Jan. 17, 2026, at Neely Branch Church with Michael Bryant, Russell Ball and Mark Finley officiating. Burial was at the Bailey Family Cemetery. Pallbearers: Scott and Caden Brown, Zach Jenkins, Harry Brewer, Abram Sturgill, Ethan White, and Kenneth Napier as alternate pallbearer.
