Charles Joseph Davis
1961—2026

Charles Joseph Davis, 64, formerly of Inez, lovingly known as “Chuck” and affectionately called “Ringo” by his friends, passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, at his home in Lenore, West Virginia, surrounded by his living family.

Born Aug. 30, 1961, he was the son of the late Joann Campbell Davis and John Lewis Davis.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Benny Davis, Blanche Harmon Maynard, Joseph Allen Campbell and Glendean Dalton Campbell.

Chuck was a graduate of Sheldon Clark High School Class of 1979. He worked underground in the coal mines during his younger years before later becoming a truck driver. After a life-changing accident, he was forced into early retirement and was never able to work again.

He is survived by his loving sister, Debbie Smith (Jed); his loving brothers, Johnny Davis and Bradley Davis (Tammy); three children, Celeste Nicole “Nikki” Davis (Adam Mills) and Joseph Kane Davis, both of Lenore, West Virginia, and Shaela Gabrielle Davis Marcum (Matthew) of Kiahsville, West Virginia; three grandchildren, Alexis Blaze Newsome (Samson Woodruff), Kian Maddox Marcum and Remington Cash Newsome; one great-granddaughter, Heidi Capri Woodruff; his step-grandchildren, Dustin (Ashley) Mills and Bryanna (Colton) Tomblin; his ex-wife and mother of his children, Teresa Ann Hannah Hurst (Terry); and nieces and nephews, Brittany Davis, Amisha Davis Marson (Brandon) and Wesley Goble (Gail).

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Dignity Hospice of Chapmanville, West Virginia, and their compassionate nurses for the love, care and support shown to the family during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the ALS Foundation in his honor.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, at the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with Benny Joe Fitch officiating. Burial followed the Campbell Cemetery on Collins Creek in Warfield. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
