WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — One of the premier high school basketball events in the region, the 24th annual Hatfield-McCoy Shootout, is scheduled to be played again at the historic Williamson Fieldhouse on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6 and 7.
Several schools are slated to play in the two-day event, including Martin County and Tug Valley.
The Cardinals will take on Independence on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and then South Charleston on Saturday at 7 p.m.
The Panthers will play the nightcap each day. On Friday, they will take on Chapmanville at 10 p.m. and then Lawrence County at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The shootout features teams from Kentucky taking on schools from West Virginia.

Friday, Feb. 6
4 p.m. Cabell Midland vs. Elliot County
5:30 p.m Independence vs. Martin County
7 p.m. Mingo Central vs. Phelps
8:30 p.m. Belfry vs. Scott
10 p.m. Tug Valley vs. Chapmanville
Saturday, Feb. 7
11:30 a.m. Williamson Middle vs. Chapmanville Middle
1 p.m. Mingo Central girls vs. Belfry girls
2:30 p.m. Lincoln County vs. Prestonsburg
4 p.m. Independence vs. Hurricane
5:30 p.m. Mingo Central vs. Pocahontas
7 p.m. South Charleston vs. Martin County
8:30 p.m. Tug Valley vs. Lawrence County
Ticket price for the upstairs bleachers is just $10 and is good for the entire day of games.
