Lafferty earns All-State Honorable Mention

INEZ — Martin County High School’s Crayson “Bones” Lafferty added a postseason, earning all-state honorable mention in football.

Lafferty finished the year as one of Class 2A’s most productive all-around players. Offensively, he ranked 22nd in the class in rushing at 79 yards per game and 21st in total yards with 935. He also finished ninth in rushing touchdowns with 18 and was close to unstoppable.

His production translated directly to points on the board. Lafferty ranked 19th in Class 2A in scoring average at 9.2 points per game and 14th in total points with 110.

Defensively, he was a menace to offenses across the mountains. He averaged 12.5 tackles per game, ranking fourth, and he was fourth in both solo tackles (79) and total tackles (150). He added 10 tackles for loss, ranking 17th in Class 2A.
