Rosetta Bowen, age 88, of Inez, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Rosetta was the heart of her family and a pillar of strength to all who knew her. She devoted her life to caring for her children and grandchildren, always putting others before herself. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter and unconditional love, and her presence will be deeply missed by everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.

Rosetta is survived by her brother, Dickie Stafford of Charley, and her 10 children: Anna Potter (Steve) of Catlettsburg, Rosalee Taylor (Floyd) of Prestonsburg, Donna Woodward (Bud) of Winter Haven, Florida, Virgil Bowen (Mary) of Kermit, West Virginia, Bonnie Noakes (John) of Louisa, Michael Bowen of Kermit, Bernice Curtis (Rob) of Georgetown, Danny Bowen (Susan) of Inez, Mary Thompson (James) of Inez, and Teresa Howard (David) of Inez. She also leaves behind 24 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Rosetta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Virgil Ray Bowen; her son, Thomas Ray Bowen; her granddaughter, Michelle Woodward; her daughter-in-law, Kay Bowen; three sisters, Evelyn, Hattie and Becky; and her brother, Gary. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, at Callaham Funeral Home in Inez, with Michael Marcum and David Bowen officiating. Burial will follow at the Bowen Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
