Melissa K. Bowen, age 42, of Inez, passed away Nov. 27, 2025, at her residence.

Born May 4, 1983, in Louisa, she was the daughter of the late Earshel Bowen and Norma L. (Cox) Bowen of Inez. In addition to her father, Melissa is preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Norma Cox and Curtis and Lidia Bowen.

Melissa is survived by her mother, Norma L. (Cox) Bowen; three sisters, Norma Ann Bowen, Rachel Bowen and Sarah Bowen, all of Inez; and three nieces, Ashley (Eric) Harris of Fallsburg, Leanna Patton and Emmalee Bowen, both of Inez. Melissa is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home, Inez, with Bill Davis, Tim Preece and David Bowen officiating. Burial followed at the Cox Family Cemetery in Inez. Melissa will be sadly missed by all those who knew her and loved her.
