1974—2025
Jessica Michelle Scott Fowler, 52, of Grand Island, Florida, passed away Nov. 23, 2025, after a short, courageous battle with cancer.
Born Dec. 18, 1974 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, she was the beloved daughter of Carol Scott.
Jessica left behind cherished memories and a legacy of love and kindness. Known for her kind heart, unwavering strength, and dedication to everything she did, Jess touched countless lives with her compassion and generosity of spirit.
Jessica was the devoted wife of Dan Flower. She and Danny met and started dating in 1991 and spent nearly 34 happy years together. Her life was filled with love for her family, her career and her cherished dogs, Peppy and Kona, who brought endless happiness.
Jessica had a distinguished career for more than two decades as an occupational therapist and registered nurse in Central Florida, much of it at Advent Health. Her many accomplishments included being a published author of articles in industry journals and leading hospital accreditation affects. She was repeatedly recognized by her employers, peers and industry leaders for her contributions to orthopedics education, patient outcomes, and promotion of interdisciplinary collaboration. Her efforts had a direct impact on many thousands of patients who were the beneficiaries of her endeavors. Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Donald Perry offered this tribute: “Jessica Scott Fowler is the absolute definition of a nurse. I can sincerely say that in my 30-plus years in medicine, I have never met a nurse who is more passionate and dedicated.” Jessica loved her work and her family, who showed kindness during her illness.
She left Earth far too soon and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her laughter, wisdom and caring spirit will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A celebration of Jessica’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share stories of the beautiful moments they experienced together.
