
Kermit Lee Howell
1951—2025
Kermit Lee Howell, 74, of Warfield, passed peacefully from this life Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025.
Born March 5, 1951, in Martin County, he was the son of the late James Robert Howell and Mary Fluty Howell.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by Eloise Howell, with whom he shared three children and for whom he continued to care deeply throughout his life. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Howell and James Howell Jr.
Kermit was a retired coal truck driver and a proud United States Army veteran. He was known for his big heart, steady presence, and unwavering love for his family. A devoted father, grandfather, Christian and friend, Kermit never met a stranger. He especially loved sitting around telling stories that made you laugh and feel welcome. One of his greatest joys was watching his grandchildren play ball, cheering them on with pride.
Left to cherish his memory are his three children, Karen (Dan) Stadnyk of Georgetown, Kermit (Sabrina) Howell and Robert (Haley) Howell, both of Inez. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Kameron, Cade, Cole, Brooke, Grady, Brody, Kruze, Kash and Boston, along with two bonus grandchildren, Harleigh and Finley. He is also survived by his siblings, Debbie Endicott, Deana Howell, Diana Collins and Kay Howell, who will each forever hold his memory close.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, at the Callaham Funeral Home in Inez with Nathan Harless officiating. Burial followed at the Jude-Howell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
