INEZ — Residents laced up and trotted through downtown Inez on Saturday for a spirited Turkey Trot 5K and Fun Run sponsored by the Turkey Creek Church of the Nazarene Youth Group. The event raised $220 to help send six students to the 2026 Nazarene Youth Conference in Salt Lake City.
Thirteen runners and walkers hit the course, bringing plenty of fall energy and a little friendly competition.
Faith Caldwell gobbled up the miles to take first place overall and in the under-35 age division.

Elizabeth Crum claimed top honors in the 35-50 division.

Lisa Stewart Wells strutted away with first place in the 50-plus group and the coveted best-dressed award.

Proceeds from the trot will help cover travel, registration and other expenses for students heading to the conference.
The Nazarene Youth Conference gathers once every four years, bringing together thousands of teens for worship, service, speakers and spiritual growth.
