INEZ — Martin County High School senior volleyball player Kristin Preece has made her college choice, verbally committing to continue her career at Kentucky Christian University.

Preece, a key contributor and leader for the Lady Cardinals, said the school’s faith-based environment was the first thing that drew her in.

“What caught my immediate attention was the fact that the school is Christian and that is such an important factor in my life,” she said. “But when I toured the school and I saw how Coach Russ interacted with us and even his players, I knew that I would love it there. He is a great guy.”

Preece plans to make it official Dec. 1 with a signing ceremony scheduled for 12:30 p.m. in the Martin County High School auditorium.

The senior said she is grateful for the opportunity to play at the next level and represent her community and school as she joins the KCU program.
