Mary Katharine (Penix) Blevins
1956—2025

Mary Katharine (Penix) Blevins, 69, of Tomahawk, passed away Nov. 12, 2025, at UK King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Born March 6, 1956, in Paintsville, she was the daughter of the late Estil and Ethel (Boyd) Penix.

In addition to her parents, Kathy is preceded in death by four brothers, George L. Penix, Estil Penix Jr., “Delnore,” Harvey Ray Penix, Harold Jack Penix; and one sister, Virginia Meade.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Blevins; one daughter, Jerrica Smith of Johnson City, Tennessee; one brother, Glenn (Josie) Penix of Tomahawk; one sister, Donna Muncy of Tomahawk; three grandsons, Collin Brett, Weston Gage and Braxton Pierce; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

On April 23, 1972, at the age of 16, Kathy was saved and baptized by Herman Davis and Arthur Preece. She was a member of the United Baptist faith. Funeral services took place Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at the Crum Funeral Home in Inez. Burial followed at the Riverview Memorial Gardens in Louisa.
