Three Martin County hunters made their mark over the weekend with notable harvests.
Camron Bowen took his first deer Thursday, bypassing the familiar rite of a small first buck and instead claiming a nine-pointer. He hunted in Lawrence County.
Elijah Collins added to the tally, dropping a strong buck during his weekend hunt in Lawrence County. His harvest demonstrates what hunters describe as heightened movement in the hardwood ridges as November temperatures cooled.

Chase Stacy finally tagged a buck he had been tracking for three years. His patience paid off during a weekend hunt that delivered more than a trophy.
“Best birthday present ever,” he said.

Kentucky’s modern gun season runs through Nov. 23.
