Phyllis Jean Kirk, better known as Mem, 86, of Lenore, West Virginia, passed away peacefully Nov. 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born to the late Elwood and Vina Mynes, Phyllis lived a life full of devotion, love, and service to her family and community. She worked under PJK Enterprise and Kirk Trucking, where she supported her family with hard work and dedication. No matter how long the day was, she made sure that dinner was on the table every evening—always putting her loved ones first. Her care and determination reflected her love, strength, and the values she held dear.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Carl Kirk; her loving son Greg “Porky” Kirk; her brothers Buddy Mynes and David Mynes; her sisters Carolyn Stanley and Geneva Mynes Eiland; her brother-in-law Damer Mynes; her mother-in-law and father-in-law Elbert and Ruth Kirk; brother-in-law JR Kirk; and sister-in-law Eloise Vincent.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted children Tamara (Ronnie) Herald and Doug (Lisa) Kirk; and her adored grandchildren Amanda (Tommy) Maynard, Nikki (Gary) Canada, Ashley (Greg) Browning and her “baby boy” Justin (Adreana) Kirk.

Phyllis’s great-grandchildren were her pride and joy: Karlea (Blake) Butcher, Gregory (Kara) Browning, Kaylee (Matthew) Canada, Olivia Maynard, Makenzie Browning, Paisley Bolyard, Lakyn Bolyard, Garrett Canada, Braylee Kirk, Jaxon Maynard, Daegan Kirk, Laney Bolyard, Raycer Kirk and Navie Maynard. Each one held a very special place in her heart, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

She is also survived by her loving siblings Lucy (Leroy) Brookins, Judy (Steve) Beery, Johnny (Kathy) Mynes, and Louise Mynes, sisters-in-law Terri Sue Decarlo and Jane Mynes, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Phyllis took great pride in keeping herself looking her best. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped care for her and those who made sure her hair and nails were always done just the way she liked.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, at the Bethel Temple in Williamson, with Bobby Perry officiating. Burial will follow at the Highlands Memorial Gardens in Chapmanville. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky.
