New Yorkers who voted for Zohran Mamdani will regret that decision and his victory this past week for the mayoral race in the largest city in the world.
Mamdani is a socialist and despite his strong sugar coating of the issues and promises he has made, they will not work. His extreme socialist/communist policies and strong views on the New York Police Department (NYPD) and the city’s huge Jewish population will backfire.
In a city this size, you need a strong law enforcement presence or crime will run rampant. I personally would not visit New York for a free trip with everything paid.
Mamdani’s hate for Israel and the Jewish population is terrible. Talk about reverse prejudice. It is just hate-filled against a population that has been scrutinized forever.
New York is the financial center of the world, home to the stock exchange, which is based on capitalism.
Many people will move from this city, and some have already relocated, much as California has lost population under similar leadership from Governor Gavin Newsom.
Mamdani’s promise of free this and free that is not going to make it. Nothing is free. Someone has to pay for these free services he has promised. He will have to raise taxes to pay for all of the things he has promised. I don’t think he can fulfill those lofty expectations. His inexperience will backfire.
Just wait and see. New York City will start to falter.
31/Atlas
Most of you know I am interested in UFOs (now called UAPs by our government) and have written about the subject. I have done a lot of reading and research about the popular topic.
I find it interesting that lately you see more and more mainstream media covering the subject. Congress has even had hearings at the Capitol with various military “whistle blowers” testifying about a cover-up by our government.
Now, about every time I go online, I see a story and update on 31/Atlas, purportedly a comet or asteroid heading into our solar system. But some say that it may be an alien craft approaching our planet.
The large interstellar object has “exhibited signs of non-gravitational acceleration,” which could be signs of an alien craft, according to esteemed Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb.
He suggested in a recent paper that the acceleration, along with the object’s startlingly blue appearance, could be signs of an artificially constructed craft, which was stated in an online article.
There are daily updates on 31/Atlas. Stay tuned.
Streaming services
It is very aggravating to me — and I am sure to many others — that some TV channels are now being cut from some services. There are various reasons, but we know the bottom line is always money.
However if you are a sports fan or would like to watch certain shows, you have to subscribe to another streaming service. There is Netflix, Hulu, Disney, Amazon and others.
One of these services recently dropped some popular sports channels, causing a stir in the industry.
I love watching West Virginia University basketball, but many of their early games are on ESPN+, yet another added charge if you want to subscribe. I already have four ESPN channels!
There are other NFL games that air on certain streaming services, which many of us do not subscribe to.
We already spend enough on cable television and internet services. I refuse to add more services. In fact, we have had Netflix for several years, and the price has kept going up. We have now received a message that it will not work on certain TV sets. So we decided to drop it. I know our little cancellation will not break them, but it makes us feel better.
Maybe we should all get back to reading some books. I have been doing that as of late and have a couple of more to get started on.
I will watch the games I do get on the channels we already receive, and the same goes for a few TV shows we like. But less time on the “boob tube” is probably better for us anyway.
Finally, the high school football playoffs started this past weekend in Kentucky and they will start this week in West Virginia. Several local schools will be playing in the postseason. Get out and support your local teams.
Basketball practice has already started in the Bluegrass State and will begin soon for the Mountain State. It is hard to believe that basketball season will be here in just a few weeks. Of course college teams have already started regular-season play on the hardwood.
I hope you have a blessed week. Until next time.
