INEZ — Martin County High School’s Braxton Maynard is the Kirk & Crum Law Firm Player of the Week.

The senior helped power the Cardinals to a 42-26 playoff win over Betsy Layne on a rainy senior night at The Rock.

Maynard came up with a huge interception to help shift the momentum in the game when the Cards were down. He was near the end zone on a pass play when he leaped into the air and tipped the ball to his cousin, Devan Maynard, who returned the pigskin 94 yards for a touchdown.
