Jody Pauley
1965—2025

Jody Pauley, age 59, of Inez, passed away Oct. 21, 2025.

Jody had been missing since March 4.

Born Dec. 1, 1965, in South Williamson, he was the son of the late John H. Pauley Jr. and Sue Scott Pauley.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Lora Pauley Hoffman and Carol Pauley Parsley.

Jody is survived by two sisters, Gayle Howell and Zola Howell, both of Inez, and two brothers, Calvin Pauley of Inez and Lon (Barbara) Pauley of Pilgrim. Also, a host of nephews, nieces and cousins mourn his passing.

Jody’s family loved him very much. From childhood Jody suffered with anxiety, behavioral issues, attention deficit and other undiagnosed problems. This led him to self-medicate and that leads to undesirable behavior. He had a checkered past mixed with good and bad.

Jody hungered and thirsted after righteousness and would always want to talk about salvation. Thank God he went to rehab, was saved, and baptized by Pastor Ronnie Sweeney. He said he prayed for all his family every night before he went to sleep, asking the Lord to forgive him for the wrongs he had committed that day. Brother, we will meet you on the other side.

A memorial service will be held Nov. 19, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Crum Funeral Home, Inez, with Pastor Ronnie Sweeney officiating. Everyone is welcome to attend. Burial will be at the Pauley Cemetery on Caney at a later time.
