INEZ — Martin County senior quarterback Devan Maynard is the Class 2A District 7 Player of the Year after turning in one of the most dominant all-around seasons in Kentucky this fall.

Maynard’s production ranks him among the top rushers in Class 2A despite being a quarterback. He helped the Cardinals pile up 2,497 yards rushing and 42 touchdowns rushing as a team.
Maynard has even chipped in as a receiver, hauling in one catch for 9 yards.
The multi-position player has been one of the top scorers in the state. He has totaled 158 points, ranking fifth in Class 2A at 14.4 points per game.
His scoring line includes 22 touchdowns rushing, 14 touchdowns in the air, two interception returns for pick-sixes, one punt return for a score and four extra points in the kicking game.
The senior’s impact carries over to the defensive side. From his spot in the secondary, Maynard has recorded 42 total tackles, including 25 solo stops and four tackles for loss. He has intercepted five passes for 189 return yards and two pick-sixes. He ranks third in total interceptions and first in touchdowns returned.
