Vada Muncy
1942—2025

Vada Magdalene (Delong) Muncy, age 82, of Beauty, gained her angel wings and passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home Oct. 23, 2025.

Born Dec. 9, 1942, in Inez, she was the daughter of the late William Delong and Hazel Irene (Newsome) Delong.

Vada was devoted to her family and enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with loved ones. She was a mother figure to many of her nieces and nephews.

Vada was an avid Elvis fan and loved his gospel music.

In addition to her parents, Vada is preceded in death by her husband, Garland Muncy; one daughter, Teresa Muncy; one brother, Thomas (Jean) Delong; and two sisters, Evelyn Maynard and Kathy McFarland.

Survivors include Vada’s daughter, Lora (Johnny) Simpkins of Beauty; four brothers, Donnie (Sherry) Delong, Thaddeus (Martha) Delong, Dewey (Carolyn) Delong and Ricky (Lois) Delong; and three sisters, Bonnie (John) Small, Carolyn (John) Bifone and Donna Robinson. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Marcus (Kayla) Simpkins and Isabella Simpkins, who will never forget the love she brought to their lives. 

Funeral services took place Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, in the Crum Funeral Home chapel in Inez with James Maynard officiating. Burial followed at the Mountain View Memory Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
