
INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Dena R. Booth, 66, of Tomahawk, was arrested Monday on West Main Street in Inez on a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/substances.
Sheriff Kirk reported that he witnessed a vehicle driving erratically and made a traffic stop. After deputies conducted sobriety tests, officers transported Booth to ARH Paintsville for blood tests and then to Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.

James Gary McCoy, of Debord, was arrested Sunday on Buck Creek Mountain in Inez for public intoxication of controlled substances (excludes alcohol).
Constable Bradford Preece was dispatched in reference to a male subject passed out on a four-wheeler on the side of the road on Buck Creek Mountain. Preece reported that he attempted several times to wake McCoy before he finally roused him.
According to the police report, when questioned about drug use, McCoy initially stated he had not used drugs in the last “week or so.” He allegedly then said it had been “a couple of days” and that he used “ice.” The officer noted that McCoy was unable to complete a sobriety test and had slurred speech.

Ronnie Ward, 50, of Lenore, West Virginia, was arrested Saturday in Beauty on two charges of fugitive from another state – warrant required out of Lawrence County, Ohio. Deputy Steven Putman made the arrest.

Patrick Gibbs, 48, of Pilgrim, was arrested Friday on charges of operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, failure to or improper signal and improper registration plate. Deputy Jameson Wall made the arrest.

April Hickman, also known as April Howell, 38, of Inez, was arrested Oct. 15 on Little Rockcastle Road in Inez on a bench warrant for court. Deputy Putman served the warrant.

Lonnie Joe Robinson, 45, of Tomahawk, was arrested Oct. 14 on Rockhouse Mills Road in Tomahawk. His charges include possession of a controlled substance, first degree (methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia-buy/possession and failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security.
Deputy Putman responded to a complaint that Robinson was following and harassing individuals at their residence on Rockhouse Mills Lane.
While speaking with Robinson and others at the scene, the deputy observed a plastic bag containing a white powder-like substance in the middle cupholder of Robinson’s vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed three small plastic baggies containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, police said.
