INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Austin Crum, 30, of Lovely, was arrested Friday on LC Jude Road in Lovely on three bench warrants. Deputy Steven Putman served the warrants around 9:52 p.m.

Jeffery Pinson, 32, of Inez, was arrested Friday near Evans Hardware in Inez for possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), tampering with physical evidence, and a warrant charging him with terroristic threatening, third degree. Sheriff Kirk stated in his report that Pinson threw down a suboxone strip after law enforcement informed him that he was under arrest for the warrant. Kirk took Pinson into custody around 5:20 p.m.

Millard Newsome, 44, of Debord, was arrested Oct. 8 on East Main Street in Inez for first-degree disorderly conduct, second-degree assault and third-degree terroristic threatening.
Deputy J.C. Kirk responded to a complaint that Newsome was “in a fist fight” with a female at a residence on East Main Street. When law enforcement arrived at the scene, a female was behind the residence. She told police that she was able to get away from Newsome out the back door.
The police report noted the female had blood on her face and a knot on her head. The female allegedly stated that Newsome hit her with a coffee mug and that she defended herself to escape. Witnesses confirmed the events, authorities said.
Kirk noted that Newsome continued to use profanity in public, causing alarm.
“He said he would pay someone to whip her [explicit],” the officer reported. “Subject also threatened to bust me in the face.”
The arrest occurred at 6:14 p.m.

John Henry Jude, 56, of Debord, was arrested Oct. 8 on Davis Branch in Debord on a bench warrant for court. Deputy Putman served the warrant at 7:56 p.m.
