
Hazel Ruth (Muncy) Kitchen
1944—2025
Hazel Ruth (Muncy) Kitchen, 80, of Westerville, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025.
Born Oct. 8, 1944, in Naugatuck, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Rush and Launa Muncy.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, George Lester Kitchen; their son, Ricky Pernell; four sisters, Margie, Opal, Beulah and Ruby; and four brothers, Johnny, Earl, Riley and Alva.
Hazel was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She spent her life caring for her family and friends, worshiping God, and making those around her laugh. She loved getting her hair and nails done, watching her favorite TV shows, and looking at Christmas lights.
She is survived by her two granddaughters, Stephany (Philip) Roseberry and Jessie Kitchen; sister, Rosie (Tom) Hartmann; brother, Tom (Merlyn) Muncy; two sisters-in-law, Diana and Rosanna Kitchen; brother-in-law, Walter Robinson; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved and adored.
Visitation took place Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, with a brief prayer service by Chaplain Joe Augello at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. South Chapel, 1346 S. High St. in Columbus, Ohio. Hazel was laid to rest Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, at the Troy Maynard Family Cemetery in Dunlow, West Virginia.
