The Spanish Rooster

The other day at the post office we received a Rooster in the mail from Puerto Rico. When the rooster crowed it sounded just like a rooster from America. I thought to myself, “Why doesn’t that rooster crow in Spanish?” I know you are thinking, “How stupid, animals don’t talk.” But we know from research that animals have a form of language that they use to communicate with each other.

Animals do have their own language. Of course it is nothing as complicated and complex as human language but animals do talk in their own way. Birds chirp and lions roar for a reason. Then the thought came to me, “Why do animals speak the same language throughout the world? Why do dogs bark the same in China as they do in Kentucky? Why do cats meow the same in Russia as they do in California? Yet man has hundreds of different dialects and languages throughout the world?”

The answer is obvious. The story of the tower of Babel in the book of Genesis must be true! God confounded the language of man but not the language of animals. If I get a cat from Mexico it will speak the same cat language as the cat from Kentucky.

If evolution were true wouldn’t the vocal sounds, the language of animals, be different throughout the world? But we don’t find that in the animal kingdom. We don’t find it because God didn’t need to confound the language of animals.

Way back the book of Genesis man was getting very powerful and consolidating all their power into one goal. And that goal was to build a tower to heaven. God saw that man needed to be split up and scattered throughout the world so that building would be done throughout all the world. Animals were already spread throughout the world and there was no need to confound animal language.

Now I am not comparing animals to humans. God made man in His own image and gave man dominion over the earth. He made animals to fear man and to serve man.

Animals are related to humans in terms of their similar DNA and the fact that they are biological creatures that depend on food and water to survive. All humans and animals have a body. But the similarity ends there. All humans have a soul. The soul is your personality. We know that some animals have personalities, but it is not a living soul like a human being. Man also has a spirit—that part of Him that is from God and will go on for eternity.

This all may seem quite trivial and silly. But the word of God is not trivial and silly. It is the very words of God written by men inspired by the Holy Spirit. The tower of Babel, Noah’s ark, Daniel in the lion’s den, and Jonah and the whale are not cute, silly stories. They are the very truth of God and not the invention of any man! I bring up the speech of animals to get you to think about the Bible, to read the Bible, to know the Bible.

We live for the one introduced only in the Bible as the purpose for which the Bible was written—that Jesus Christ is the only Savior and our only Lord.
