INEZ — A Martin County grand jury handed up indictments Oct. 2 charging six defendants in cases ranging from theft and receiving stolen property to drug trafficking and terroristic threatening.

Shawn Moore, 46, of Inez, stands accused of theft of a motor vehicle registration plate (a Class D felony). The indictment states Moore removed a vehicle registration plate owned by Timmy Mullett of Inez and placed it on a vehicle driven by Donald Harris on April 28. Moore’s bail is $5,000.

Michael Spaulding, 34, of Kermit, West Virginia, is facing a charge of receiving stolen property under $10,000 (a Class D felony). The grand jury accuses Spaulding of being in possession of a 2004 Toyota Tacoma stolen from Cory Stacy of Beauty with an approximate value of $7,675 on June 30. Spaulding’s bail is $5,000.

Joshua Moore, 27, of Inez, is facing a charge of receiving stolen property under $10,000-complicity (a Class D Felony). The indictment states that on June 28 Moore acted alone or in complicity with Jonathan M. Cornette and Erin Kugel in receiving a 2000 Honda TRX450 four-wheeler stolen from Elizabeth Moore of Inez with an approximate value of $3,000. His bail is $5,000.

Henry Butcher, 27, of Lovely, faces a charge of trafficking in the first degree (fentanyl) (a Class C Felony). The grand jury accuses Butcher of having 3.923 grams of fentanyl, a Schedule II narcotic with the intent to traffic at the time of his arrest Aug. 7, 2024. Butcher’s bail is $10,000.

Kelli Wiseman, 40, of Debord, stands accused of trafficking in a controlled substance in the second degree (over 20 dosage units) (a Class D Felony). According to the indictment, Wiseman had 40 dosage units of Buprenorphine (Suboxone), a Schedule III controlled substance at the time of her arrest July 18, 2024. Wiseman’s bail is $5,000.

Christopher Maynard, 43, of Lovely, faces a charge of terroristic threatening in the third degree (a Class A Misdemeanor). The grand jury accuses Maynard of threatening to commit a crime likely to result in death or serious physical injury to another person or substantial property damage July 13. Martin District Court will determine Maynard’s bond.
