INEZ — Martin County youth football continued its strong season last week with wins over Pike Central and Flat Gap.
On Sept. 22, the A team followed with a hard-fought 6-0 victory. Blaine Williams connected with Raylan Preston for an 80-yard touchdown that stood as the game-winner.
The B team rolled past Pike Central 24-0 behind a stellar outing from Eli Greer. The Cardinal rushed for 160 yards and three touchdowns.
Quarterback Waylon Porter added another score with a touchdown pass to Kase Nezbeth. The defense held Pike Central to just 20 total yards and forced three fumbles in the shutout.
Three days later, the sixth-grade team clashed with Johnson Central in a high-scoring contest.
Williams powered the offense with 250 yards passing on 21 completions and accounted for four total touchdowns.

Preston hauled in 10 receptions for 120 yards and also rushed three times for 30 yards. He scored three total touchdowns. Jason West contributed with multiple clutch catches for 80 yards receiving.
The B team capped the week with a 28-0 rout of Flat Gap.
Greer turned in a big performance with 100 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown and a 40-yard touchdown reception from Porter.
Lukas Mays added 30 yards and a rushing touchdown. Kingsley Copley broke loose for a 60-yard score.
Copley and Willie Porter also added two-point conversions in the win.
The Cards have Pike Central and Magoffin County remaining on the schedule. The teams will face off after the fall break.
