Woodrow Ferguson
1946—2025

Woodrow Ferguson, 79, of Linwood, North Carolina, formerly of Dunlow, West Virginia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sept. 17, 2025, at the Hinkle House in Lexington, North Carolina, surrounded by his loving wife of 60 years.

Born July 28, 1946, in Radnor, West Virginia, he was the son of the late John and Norina Thomas Ferguson.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four sisters, Polly Ann Ferguson, Geneva Bowens, Bertha Mae Sturgell and Ninnie Bradley, and four brothers, Harvey Ferguson, John L. Ferguson, Clifton Ferguson and Willard Ferguson.

Woodrow was a crane operator and a coal miner at Marrowbone Development Company in Naugatuck, West Virginia, for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife Margaret Ferguson of the home; two sons Woodrow (Naomi) Ferguson Jr. and Gary (Karen) Ferguson, both of Linwood, North Carolina; one brother, Halcey Ferguson (Debbie) of Linwood, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Andrew) Ferguson of Asheville, North Carolina, Christopher (Whitney) Ferguson of Salisbury, North Carolina, Gary (Katie) Ferguson of Lexington, North Carolina, Austin (Brianna) Ferguson of Greensboro, North Carolina; great-grandchildren Easton, Parker, Becksley, Mason and Scotlyn; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation and funeral services took place Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025, at the Turkey Creek United Baptist Church in Wilsondale, West Virginia. Emanuel Ferguson, George Nelson and Tommy Damron officiated. Burial followed at the Verlie Perry-Crum Cemetery. Mullins Family Funeral Home of Warfield is honored to serve the family.
