Troopers seize large quantity of drugs, 22 guns in Hardy drug raid

HARDY — A Pike County man is in jail after state police discovered a cache of drugs, firearms and cash during a raid in the Hardy community, authorities said.

Troopers with Kentucky State Police Post 9 executed a search late Thursday night that yielded approximately 23.5 pounds of suspected marijuana, 192 grams of suspected fentanyl, 6 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms, 35 bottles of liquid THC, more than 2,100 THC edibles and assorted drug paraphernalia. Officers also seized 22 firearms and about $1,500 in cash.

The man, James Hardesty, 35, was taken into custody and booked into the Pike County Detention Center.

He faces multiple charges, including trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree (fentanyl), trafficking in a controlled substance, second degree (hallucinogen), trafficking in marijuana, trafficking in a legend drug, first offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
