September is National Recovery Month, a time to celebrate the strength of those in recovery and the communities that support them. In Martin County, Thrive Community Coalition is leading the way by working alongside the Martin County Health Department to provide vital support for individuals facing addiction, those in transition, and families impacted by substance use.

Thrive’s mission is to “empower communities to overcome substance misuse through education, prevention and collaboration.” That mission is lived out daily as the coalition connects people in need with resources, builds awareness through prevention programs, and creates safe spaces where hope can grow.

By partnering with the Martin County Health Department, Thrive extends its reach to those most in need—meeting people where they are, whether in the trenches of active addiction or in the fragile but hopeful stages of early recovery. Together, they provide not just services, but encouragement, accountability, and a vision for a healthier community.

This Recovery Month, Thrive reminds us that recovery is not only possible, but stronger when supported by a caring community. Their work shows that when local organizations come together, the path from struggle to stability becomes a shared journey of healing and resilience.
