The 2025 Martin County Harvest Fest was a weekend of food, music and parades. It was also a reminder of what happens when a community comes together with pride and purpose.

Under clear skies and perfect fall weather, Inez came alive Friday and Saturday with crowds that filled the streets. Families strolled shoulder to shoulder through vendor booths, kids laughed and lined up for rides, and neighbors stopped to greet each other as if the entire county had gathered on Main Street. The atmosphere was electric yet familiar, a blend of celebration and belonging that festivals in small towns are meant to bring.

Children were at the heart of the weekend. Their joy on the carnival rides, their wide eyes during the parade, and their excitement for a petting zoo, a pony ride and treats carried the spirit of the event.

From the youngest enjoying face paint and paddle boats to the high school band marching proudly, the Harvest Fest showed just how much the next generation means to Martin County. When kids smile, parents and grandparents smile too, and the whole community feels stronger for it.

The musical performances capped the days with energy and talent that rivaled larger cities.

Nashville songwriter CJ Solar’s powerhouse Saturday night set was proof that Inez can host headline-worthy shows.

But the applause and cheers went beyond the stage. They were for the festival committee, the volunteers, the local businesses and sponsors who made the weekend possible. Their efforts created an experience that drew together thousands of people in celebration.

In a time when challenges often dominate headlines, Harvest Fest offered hope, connection and community pride.

Martin County should carry forward that spirit of togetherness as we head into the rest of the fall season.

Festivals come and go, but the memories created this weekend will linger.

And the sense of unity they fostered is exactly what will carry our community into a bright future.
