Phyllis Jean Robertson
1956—2025

Phyllis Jean Robertson, age 69, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025, at home.

Born March 1, 1956 in Williamson, West Virginia, she is the daughter of the late Kelly and Odessa (Spaulding) Messer.

Phyllis was a kindhearted person who loved and cherished her family and friends. She attended Hilock Fellowship Church and was employed with Spirit Services for over 35 years, which she considered her second family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jo Hensley and husband, Ernest Robertson.

Survived by daughter Kelli (John Raybourne) Robertson; step grandson Vladimir Rayburne; siblings Earnestine (James) Woods, Willie Messer, Bertha (Johnny) James, Arvel (Sharri) Messer, Danny Messer, Bobby Messer, Sharlene Messer, Tammy Bembry and Linda Cantrell; many special nieces, nephews and church family.

Service was Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, at O. R. WOODYARD CO. South Chapel, 1346 S. High Street, Columbus, Ohio. Pastor Michael Back officiated.

Additional service was Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, at the Callaham Funeral Home, Warfield, Kentucky. Pastor Freddie Messer officiated. Burial followed at Kelly-Odessa-Messer Cemetery, Kermit, West Virginia.
