INEZ — Judge John Kevin Holbrook heard the following cases Sept. 4 in Martin Circuit Court while Judge Brett Butcher heard cases Sept. 9 in Martin District Court.

Samuel Porter (change of plea) — 1. Wanton endangerment, first degree; 2. Wanton endangerment, first degree; 3. Terroristic threatening, third degree; 4. Sentences to run consecutively for a total of 10 years to serve.

Brian K. Runyon (change of plea) — 1. Possession of controlled substance, first degree, first offense (drug unspecified); 2. Public intoxication of controlled substance (excludes alcohol): Pleaded guilty, sentencing 10/16/25 at 10 a.m. 1. Two years; 2. Ninety days. Sentences probated for two years, complete Martin County Drug Court.

Sentences probated for five years, have no contact with victim William Small, his family or property, complete rehab in which defendant is currently enrolled, pay $1,000 restitution to William Small through the Martin County Clerk’s office at the rate of $100 per month beginning no later than 1/1/26.

Amanda Jude (sentencing) — 1. Possession of controlled substance, first degree, first offense (methamphetamine); 2. Drug paraphernalia-buy/possession; 3. Possession of marijuana: 1. Two years; 2. Twelve months; 3. Forty-five days. Sentences diverted for two years, complete at least 180 days of inpatient substance abuse treatment, bench warrant no bond.

Garland Mills (sentencing) — 1. Complicity burglary, second degree; 2. Criminal mischief, third degree: 1. Amended to burglary, third degree, sentenced to five years; 2. Ninety days. Sentences probated for five years, have no contact with victim William Small, his family or his property, pay $5,000 in restitution to victim William Small at sentencing. All parties (including bond/surety posted) agree that the defendant’s $5,000 cash bond shall be forfeited to meet restitution obligation. Defendant is responsible for all clerk fees assessed.

Garland Mills (sentencing) — Bail jumping, first degree: Dismissed with prejudice, $5,000 bond to be released and considered restitution in 24-CR-46, released to victim William Small.

Brandon Parsons (sentencing) — 1. Possession of controlled substance, first degree, first offense, heroin; 2. Drug paraphernalia-buy/possess: 1. Two years; 2. Twelve months. Sentences diverted for two years, complete any course of substance abuse treatment recommended by DPP.
