Pets take the stage at Harvest Fest

CITIZEN STAFF REPORT

INEZ — The Martin County Harvest Fest will again give local pets their moment in the spotlight when the county’s 4-H chapter hosts its Fourth Annual Pet Show on Sept. 12.

The event, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on the festival grounds, has become a lively tradition, drawing children and families eager to parade their dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, farm animals and even the occasional reptile before a crowd of neighbors and friends.

Prizes and ribbons will be awarded across several categories: dogs; cats; reptiles, amphibians and aquatics; and livestock and farm animals. Youth participants will compete in two divisions — Cloverbuds, ages 5 to 8, and 4-H members, ages 9 to 18.

Call the Extension Office at (606) 298-7742 to register.
