Martin County Sheriff John Kirk

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Homer Evans

Homer Evans, 68, of Lovely, was arrested Monday on Riverfront Road in Lovely on a bench warrant for court. Deputy Steven Putman served the warrant at 7:58 p.m.

Kristopher Daniel Moore

Kristopher Daniel Moore, 18, of Warfield, was arrested Sunday at Dempsey Housing for fourth-degree assault (dating violence, minor injury) and alcohol intoxication in a public place.

Deputy Jameson Wall responded to the scene at 5:15 p.m. after a report of domestic violence. According to the police report, a female stated that Moore had been drinking and that a verbal altercation led to him punching her in the stomach and face. The officer noted the female had multiple bruises, slight swelling on her head, a busted lip and a ripped shirt. According to the female, Moore also bit her lip and made it bleed more.

The female stated that Moore threatened, “I’m gonna kill you and the baby,” even though she cannot get pregnant and has never been pregnant by Moore. She said she had to fight Moore off because he was hitting her face.

Moore allegedly admitted he punched the female a few times but said it was to “defend” himself.

The deputy reported that Moore smelled heavily of alcohol and was under the influence. The officer noted empty bottles of liquor were lying beside the bed in the living room.

Jeremy Harmon

Jeremy Harmon, 44, of Warfield, was arrested Sunday on White Road in Warfield on two bench warrants for court. Deputy Walls served the warrant at 10:34 p.m.

Thomas Osborne

Thomas Osborne, 23, of Union, South Carolina, was arrested Saturday on Whitt Road in Inez for public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol) and possession of a controlled substance, first degree (methamphetamine).

Deputy Jameson Wall reported that officers found Moore “slumped over with all the doors open” in the passenger seat of a pickup parked in a driveway. Deputies had to perform a sternum rub to wake Moore.

“He woke up unable to communicate very well and appeared clearly to be under the influence of a substance,” Wall wrote in his report.

While assisting Osborne out of the truck, deputies found a clear baggie containing a crystal substance near the running board. Wall noted Osborne was “very confused and unable to control his movements.”

Rose Ellen Johnson

Rose Ellen Johnson, 54, of Inez, was arrested Friday on Rockcastle Road in Inez on a warrant. Deputy Wall served the warrant at 7:16 p.m.
