With the Martin County Harvest Festival right around the corner, the Martin County Health Department is ready to welcome everyone to its third annual Health & Wellness Pavilion, bringing health and community together.
Mark your calendars and join us Friday, Sept. 12 from 12–5 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Martin County Business Center in Inez.
In addition to the fun, food and festivities of the Harvest Festival, the Pavilion will bring together local healthcare providers and organizations to share resources with the community.
The Health Department will be offering free screenings, including mini well checks, blood pressure screenings, A1C tests, cholesterol testing and body mass index checks.
Your health matters. If you have been delaying important checkups, this is a great opportunity to get screenings at no cost.
Attendees can also explore education booths on nutrition, mental health and preventive care. Come visit the Martin County Health Department booth for fun games, a selfie station and prizes.
Do not miss a special highlight: a visit from our very own Captain Wellness, who will be there to meet and inspire the kids.
In addition to these activities, the Health Department will provide information on the various programs we offer, including HANDS, WIC, Tobacco Prevention, Diabetes Prevention, MCH and PrEP.
The Pavilion is made possible thanks to the support of ARH, Big Sandy Health Care, Mountain Comprehensive Care Centers, THRIVE and many more community partners, all working together to make preventive care more accessible.
This is a perfect opportunity to take charge of your health in a fun, family-friendly environment. Don’t miss out on the chance to learn, connect and receive important screenings at no cost—all while enjoying one of Martin County’s favorite annual traditions.
We invite everyone to come out, celebrate the Harvest Festival, and visit the Health & Wellness Pavilion to discover how a healthier community begins with all of us.

Dorothy Dillon is the Health Program Development and Outreach Manager at the Martin County Health Department.
