Senior quarterback Devan Maynard added a rushing score, keeping Martin County within striking distance through three quarters.
With multiple tests over the summer, the focus shifts to a battle-tested Lawrence County squad.
The Bulldogs, a Class 3A program, finished 8-4 last season with decisive wins over Mason and Clay County.
Martin County enters the matchup coming off a 9-4 campaign that ended in the Class 2A regional finals against eventual state champion Beechwood.
