Martin County Sheriff John Kirk

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Brian Howell

Brian Howell, 46, of Inez, was arrested Monday on Route 645 in Inez on an indictment warrant charging him with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia – buy/possession. Deputy Steven Putman served the warrant at 7:24 p.m.

David Joshua Brown

David Joshua Brown, 40, of Lovely, was arrested twice last week. On Saturday, Deputy Putman arrested him in Lovely on a bench warrant for court.

Earlier in the week, on Aug. 13, Chief Deputy Chris Kidd arrested Brown on  KY-645 in Inez on charges of operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security and no registration plates.

Kidd got behind Brown’s vehicle around 9:30 a.m. and noticed it had no license plate. Upon initiating a traffic stop, he received information from Kentucky State Police Post 9 confirming Brown’s license had been suspended.

Kasandra Hamilton

Kasandra Hamilton, 32, of Tomahawk, was arrested Friday at Mary Perry Road in Tomahawk on charges of endangering the welfare of a minor, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and drug paraphernalia- buy/possession.

Deputy Kidd stated he took Hamilton into custody after discovering drugs and paraphernalia within arm’s reach of a four-month-old baby. According to the police report, the officer was serving a warrant on another individual at a residence on Mary Perry Road when he noticed a glass pipe with residue believed to be methamphetamine, two digital scales, and a clear plastic bag containing a white powder substance. The items were in a dresser drawer beside Hamilton, who was lying on a bed with a 4-month-old infant.

Kidd contacted Social Services, which placed the child in protective custody.

Christopher Raleigh Andrews

Christopher Raleigh Andrews, 34, of Warfield, was arrested Thursday at the Warfield Caboose on a fugitive warrant out of Virginia.

Deputy J.C. Kirk took Andrews into custody after initiating a traffic stop for Andrews’ failure to use a turn signal. During the stop, the officer learned that Andrews was wanted in Virginia.

Kirk noted, “Virginia officials would not fax the warrant until the subject was lodged in jail.”

Andrews was booked into the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, where he remains on a $50,000 bond.

Danny Jude

Danny Jude, 36, of Beauty, was arrested Thursday on Route 40 in Beauty on a bench warrant from Martin District Court. Deputy J.C. Kirk served the warrant at 8:58 p.m.

Lisa M. Messer

Lisa M. Messer, 43, of Warfield, was arrested Aug. 14 at Riverside Apartments on a bench warrant from Martin District Court. Deputy Jameson Walls served the warrant at 8:16 p.m.

Cheryl Rogers

Cheryl Rogers, 49, of Tomahawk, was arrested Aug. 13 in Inez on an indictment warrant charging her with unlawful transaction with a minor in the first degree-illegal sex act under 16 years of age. Deputy Cody Tash served the warrant at 10:25 a.m. after Rogers turned herself in.

April Hickman

April Hickman, 38, of Inez, was arrested Aug. 13 in Inez on a bench warrant from Martin District Court. Deputy Putman served the warrant at 7:40 p.m.
