INEZ — Martin County Youth football teams showcased strong performances Friday night at The Rock during the grid-o-rama.

The Cardinals off against Highlands and Porter elementary schools.

In the A-team matchup against Highlands, Martin County jumped out early with a 12-0 lead. That was thanks to touchdown receptions from Raylan Preston, who caught a pass from quarterback Jonah Mills and Blaine Williams. Bentlee Copley caught a bomb for a 50-yard catch while Jonah McCoy capped the scoring with a 40-yard touchdown reception.

The B-team faced Porter Elementary and started out hot as Eli Greer’s impressive run to the right set up Greyson Maynard’s 35-yard touchdown run.

Porter responded with a score of their own.

Martin County answered when Lukas Mays took a handoff from Maynard and sprinted 45 yards to the end zone.

In the A-team game versus Porter, Mills connected again with Williams for a touchdown. Preston dazzled with a 42-yard run down to the 5-yard line.

Nolan Muncy came up big with a 35-yard scoring run while Martin Rudas successfully added the point after.

Mills finished the night by running in a touchdown himself.

Martin County will host Fairview this Saturday at 10 a.m. in Inez.
