UPIKE expands social work program with flexible online and hybrid options

PIKEVILLE — The University of Pikeville is expanding its Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program with new online and hybrid options, giving students the flexibility to study in-person, online or through a combination of both.

Designed for working professionals, student-athletes, parents and other nontraditional students, the program provides an accessible path to a career in social work while accommodating work, family and extracurricular commitments.

“Our new online BSW Program opens doors to meaningful work in a wide variety of settings in mental health, addiction treatment, health care, schools and more,” said Ashton Bartley, MSW, director of UPIKE’s undergraduate social work program.

“For those already working in these fields, it provides the knowledge and skills to advance in their careers. Designed with flexibility in mind, it’s a perfect fit for working professionals, parents and returning students. Plus, it offers a direct path to our one-year MSW program, expanding your opportunities even further.”

Graduates of the BSW program are eligible for advanced standing in UPIKE’s Master of Social Work program. The MSW program offers fully online year-round courses, allowing students to continue working while advancing their credentials.
