WARFIELD — Makenna Marcum is the Tommy’s Auto Sales Player of the Week.

Marcum, who plays for Martin County Middle School, came in clutch in a 28-24 home overtime win over Betsy Layne on Thursday night.

Down 21-18, she danced around screens at the top of the key before hitting a 3-ball from the wing to knot the game with just over three minutes left in regulation.

In overtime, Marcum scored off the tip for a quick bucket to go ahead two. With 15 seconds left in the game, she hit a floater near the rim to seal the deal.

Marcum fired in 15 points to account for over half the team’s scoring.
