INEZ — Martin County soccer coach Steven Gauze held his annual Cardinals youth soccer camp July 22-24 at The Rock. Despite the sweltering temperatures, the Lady Cards had a great turnout and provided instruction for the future of soccer in Martin County.

“I thought the camp went well despite the heat. I know the kids had a good time because every time I did a water break, they were back on the field without me saying anything,” Coach Gauze said.

His daughter, Kaitlyn Gauze, found time from her semi-pro career to be in attendance to assist with the camp.

“She was planning every session herself. I thought it was great to involve her because it showed our youth players that with hard work it’s possible to play beyond high school,” Coach Gauze concluded.
