Loretta Bowen
1970—2025

Loretta Bowen, age 54, of Martin County, went home to be with the Lord on July 15, 2025, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

Born Aug. 1, 1970, in Louisa, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Juanita (Whitt) Bowen.

In addition to her parents, Loretta is preceded in death by her twin sister, Pauletta Bowen, and a special nephew, Gunner Stepp.

She is survived by her husband, Mitchell Bowen of Martin County, one son, Joseph Ryan (Michelle) Bowen and one daughter, Kendra (Corey) Hill, both of Martin County; three brothers, Tommy (Carla) Bowen, Ronnie (Vickie) Bowen and Timmy (Brenda) Bowen, all of Martin County, and two sisters, Edwina (Charlie) Spaulding and Vickie (Michael) Horn, both of Louisa. Loretta is also survived by her grandchildren, Cameron Hill, Alyssa Hill and Laila Hill, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mitchell and Loretta were both faithful members of the Calf Creek United Baptist Church.

Funeral services took place Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the Calf Creek United Baptist Church with Maurice Mills and Mike Horn officiating. Burial followed at the Bowen Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
